With World Book Day 2019 fast approaching, we want to make sure you’re prepared with a great costume that’s also affordable and very little fuss. This year it’s 7 March so the clock is ticking for all those bibliophiles who want to get into the spirit. Whether you’re a teacher, a parent who hasn’t got time to make something from scratch, or part of a growing trend of people who dress up for WBD at work, we’ve got you covered.

To get inspired for some World Book Day ideas, we thought we’d take a look back at a couple of our all-time favourites, from the elaborate to the simple.

Meagan Marie as Ciri

Meagan Marie dressed up as Ciri, in a foggy wooded area in Denmark

Long-admired by us, cosplayer @MeaganMarie did this amazing photo shoot in Denmark a couple years back. As you’ll see, every little detail has been planned and executed perfectly, from the hair to the costume to the make-up. The hard work paid off with some incredible shots that transport us right into the heart of the world created by Andrzej Sapkowski.
